Ellison Bay Arts Hosts Annual Holiday Open House

Pottery on display at Ellison Bay Pottery.

Ellison Bay Arts sparks the season with their Holiday Open House, Nov. 25 and 26 from 10 am – 5 pm. Clay Bay Pottery, Ellison Bay Pottery, Gills Rock Stoneware, Newport House Gallery and Turtle Ridge Gallery invite the public to celebrate the season and shop in the festive atmosphere of beautiful Ellison Bay.

For the Open House, Clay Bay Pottery is offering mugs decorated with angles, trees and trolls as well as new colorful lamps. Owners David and Jeanne Aurelius recommend decorating a holiday table with a lady vase filled with greenery or a beautiful bowl filled with ornaments or seasonal fruits.

Ellison Bay Pottery will feature 2011 ornaments during the Open House. The shop, decorated for the Christmas season, will also feature recently fired goblets, bowls, serving trays, soup mugs and coffee mugs.

Hot cider and cookies will be served. Free gift-wrapping and a card will be included with each purchase. The shop will also present smaller paintings by Tom and Margaret Dietrich.

Gills Rock Stoneware will showcase Christmas decorated serving pieces: platters, bowls, baking dishes and wine coolers. The wood oven will be fired during the Open House offering a taste of the Scandinavian specialty, kringla and other treats.

Newport House will be filled with special carvings and heritage pieces. New paintings by Sandra Erickson Wright will also be available.

Turtle Ridge

Turtle Ridge of Ellison Bay will present a variety of new items, including cozy capes and the Simple Satchel and Simple Clutch in purple, marigold, navy and gray.

An explosion of new leather bracelets and fun jewelry by featured artists Lesley Bruce Smith and Angi Dowland round out the list of unique handmade gifts.

Customers are welcome to make something special at the “Super 8″ bracelet-making workshop. There will also be a free drawing, refreshments and demonstrations.
