Ellison Bay Pottery Hosts Anniversary Party

Ellison Bay Pottery Studios will celebrate its third annual Anniversary Party Aug. 20, 4 – 7 pm. Ellison Bay Pottery was started by John T. Dietrich 43 years ago. Dietrich was ready to start his own pottery studio after his six years as Abe Cohn’s, resident potter of Fish Creek’s Potters Wheel, assistant and soon discovered that he had developed a customer fan base because Abe and his wife Ginka sent all his customers to Ellison Bay.

Fifty years ago Dietrich was dared to try to throw on a potter’s wheel and he was hooked. With the support of his friends, family and customers, he continues to grow and evolve at Ellison Bay Pottery. Dietrich has a passion to make functional pottery that feels good in your hand and are works of art.
