Jewelry by Angela Lensch.

Linden Gallery is pleased to present the work of Egg Harbor jewelry artist Angela Lensch. She is known in Door County for her meticulous woven gold and silver work, and her sense of design and color. Lensch will be at Linden Gallery on July 12, 2 – 5 pm, to present her latest collection and talk about what’s new for this season.

Her display at Linden Gallery features jewelry inspired on a 2012 trip to Jaipur, India. While there, Lensch worked with a collective of women, teaching them to create beads with their beautiful, recycled silk saris, the native dresses of India. As she explains, “I wanted to explore India’s 5,000-year jewelry making history. More, though, I sought to realize the beauty of learning from and working with people who are intricately and increasingly connected to us.”

Lensch realized the last goal of her trip by creating new work and bringing the depth and history of ancient India to her Door County community. Her sari bead jewelry echoes the traditions of Indian design with a very contemporary feel. She incorporates crystals and other gemstones with the sari beads in a kaleidoscope of patterns and color.

Linden Gallery is located at Highway 42 and Mink River Road in downtown Ellison Bay. Call 920.854.2487 for more information.
