Ellison Bluff County Park Entrance Road Temporarily Closed

The Door County Facilities and Parks Department announced the temporary closure of the entrance road to Ellison Bluff County Park due to significant washouts in the roadway from recent weather events. The closure is temporary until appropriate roadway repairs can be made.

The park will remain open to visitors, but access into the park will be limited to foot traffic.  The Facilities and Parks Department is working closely with the Door County Highway Department to coordinate and complete the repairs needed to make the roadway passable again as soon as possible.

“The safety of our Park visitors is a priority for our department,” said Parks Superintendent Ben Nelson. “Ellison Bluff County Park is one of our most popular parks, and the repair of this roadway is a high priority to be completed so that our visitors and residents can continue to pursue recreational and outdoor activities within the park.” “Unfortunately, with the high level of rain we have seen in the county lately, it has created some rough roadway conditions on the entrance road.”
