Egg Harbor’s Holly Days Festival is a weekend full of old-fashioned holiday fun. The festival will be held Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 28 – 29. The event, full of family fun, kicks off the official Christmas season with festive, dazzling decorations and holiday activities for all ages.

Start the weekend with Breakfast with Santa at the Landmark Resort on Friday, Nov. 28 from 8:30 – 10:30am. Enjoy a delicious breakfast surrounded by plenty of seasonal decorations, get photos taken with Santa, decorate cookies, create different arts and crafts, and top it all off with a hayride.

The family weekend features a children’s Elf Hunt and a Mistle Dough shopping contest for adults on Friday and Saturday. Horse-drawn wagon rides narrated by the Egg Harbor Historical Society through downtown Egg Harbor will begin at Mojo Rosa’s and are offered both Friday and Saturday. Stop in at Cinnamon Windmill in the Main Street Shops for A Door County Night Before Christmas book signing from 1- 3pm, also on Friday.

On Friday, Nov. 28 at 4:30pm, visit Harbor View Park in the heart of Egg Harbor to meet Santa, partake in a traditional Christmas tree lighting, and sing fun-filled carols and festive tunes.

Saturday starts with fun children’s activities between 10am and 3pm. They can decorate cookies at Pink Bakery, have faces painted at Maxwell’s House, write letters to Santa at Double Delites, and make buttons at Liberty Square Shops. The 13th annual Children’s Christmas Store will be held at the Bertschinger Center from noon until 2pm. Children ages 4-12 can purchase holiday gifts for their family with help from Santa’s elves.

The “Reindeer” Drop will take place at Lena’s Lot on the south end of town, across from Liberty Square at 1pm. Tickets are $10 and only 100 tickets will be available. Tickets can be purchased at Double Delites and Mojo Rosa’s. The winner will take home half the pot ($500). The other half of the pot, along with proceeds from the children’s activities, will benefit Family Centers of Door County. There will also be a 50/50 raffle with proceeds benefitting FFA.

Third Avenue Playhouse performers will be caroling throughout downtown from 10am – 3pm. Make sure to bring your camera and visit Santa Land at the Egg Harbor Visitor Center between 12 – 3pm to take pictures with Santa. Prizes for the Elf Hunt and Mistle Dough shopping contest will also be awarded in Santa Land at 3pm.

All events are free of charge. Proceeds will benefit Family Centers of Door County.
