Crossroads at Big Creek’s Friday Film tells the story of one of the founders of The Ridges Sanctuary. The Wisconsin Public Television Emma Toft, One With Nature documentary tells the story of Miss Emma.
The screening is scheduled for Jan. 20 at 2 pm. Come explore the work of one of Door County’s environmental pioneer. Despite commercial development just down the road, Toft Point near Baileys Harbor remains as it was more than a thousand years ago. Toft was a woman of the wilderness and was willing to fight for the land and the respect of plants and animals. This is a story of her preservation and perseverance. The screening takes place in the lecture hall of the Collins Learning Center, and is free and open to the public.
Trails at Crossroads’ three preserves are free and open to the public. For trail maps, current trail conditions and cancellations, visit crossroadsatbigcreek.org. The Collins Learning Center, located at 2041 Michigan Street in Sturgeon Bay, is open 2-4 pm daily and during scheduled activities.
