Encore Performances of “Lone Star” from Rogue Theatre

(Clockwise from left) Marcel Bruyere, Elliot Goettleman, and Stuart Champeau will perform in Rogue Theatre’s production of “Lone Star.”

Rogue Theatre has encore performances of Lone Star in the works, along with new productions.

Lone Star will be performed July 18 – 20 at Sister Bay Village Hall, and on Labor Day weekend at Trueblood Performing Arts Center on Washington Island. A few performances may also take place at Greco Gallery in Sturgeon Bay.

Directed by Stuart Champeau, the play tells the story of two brothers, Roy, played by Elliot Goettleman, and Ray, played by Champeau, who are shooting the breeze behind Angel’s Bar in Maynard, Texas.

Roy has been out of Vietnam for two years now, but can’t quite get used to all the changes that have taken place since he left. A couple of things do stay the same – getting drunk behind Angel’s, the stars, and his love for his 1959 Pink Thunderbird Convertible. But what happens later that night may change the lives of the two brothers. Marcel Bruyere also stars as the pencil-pushing, loafer wearing Cletis T. Fullernoy. For the July 19 performance, Skyler Champeau will fill in for Goettleman as Roy.

Lone Star will have audiences laughing and contemplating heavy subject matter (with a little rough language).

Rogue Theatre is also working on a production of It Had to be You by Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna for October performances at Sister Bay Village Hall. Lola DeVillers will play Theda Blau, an out of work actress trying to get a part in a commercial from the producer Vito Pignoli, played by Stuart Champeau.
