Energy Fair Keynotes Named

Each year the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) hosts The Energy Fair, transforming rural Central Wisconsin into the hot spot for renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable living education. The Energy Fair brings more than 15,000 attendees together to learn the latest and greatest in clean energy and sustainability, connect with others, and take action towards a more sustainable future. The Energy Fair is the nation’s longest running energy education event of its kind. This year’s event takes place June 19-21 at MREA headquarters in Custer, Wis.

More than 200 exhibitors and workshops are held throughout the weekend, along with a Clean Transportation Show featuring vehicles and demos, green building demonstrations, as well as food and chef demos to bring sustainability to your table.

The keynote speakers include Jon Wellinghoff, immediate past chair of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, who used his term to advocate for a stronger national renewable energy power grid; Amy Goodman, host of Democracy Now!; Atina Diffey, author of Turn Here Sweet Corn: Organic Farming Works; and Sarah Lloyd, a farmer and Wisconsin Farmers Union representative. The weekend includes music, food and local beer. For more information visit midwestrenew.org.
