Enjoy a Candlelight Ski at Whitefish Dunes

Explore Whitefish Dunes State Park in the winter during two upcoming events.

On Feb. 15, join the Friends of Whitefish Dunes for a night of candlelight fun. Ski, hike or snowshoe the groomed trails at the park. Ski among the forested dunes for 1.5 miles or hike/snowshoe a 1.5 mile-loop, and then warm up in the shelter building. Sip hot cocoa and munch roast marshmallows, fresh popcorn and bakery.

A limited number of snowshoes will be available on a first come, first serve basis. This is a free event, but a state vehicle sticker is required.

On Feb. 22, snowshoe into the forested dunes to explore dinosaurs, flying porcupines and ancient history. This hike is short in distance, but vertically challenging. Limited snowshoes are available for participants. Join the naturalist for this special treat to hike within the dunes. Snowshoes/winter boots and walking sticks are recommended. Meet at the nature center at 1:30 pm.
