Enjoy Root Beer Fest at Heritage Village

Join Heritage Village at Big Creek for Root Beer Fest on July 12 at 2 pm. The Door County Historical Society will celebrate all things root beer with the festival patterned after an Octoberfest celebration.

Participants will be able to sample varieties of root beers and then have the opportunity to purchase the brand they like best. Members of the Historical Society will offer root beer flower, root beer cake, root beer Fizzies, pretzels and other munchies. Also, there will be a chance to sample some root beer home brews.

Also at Heritage Village, on July 14 at 1:30 pm, is the program “Life on the Warren Farm and Schopf Log Cabin in 1890.” Experience farm life with Grandma Warren and explore two log cabins in Heritage Village.

Two programs will be offered at Crossroads at Big Creek in the following week: July 13 – “Amazing Great Lakes Fish,” learn about the habitats required of fish under the waves; and July 14 – “Butterflies Everywhere,” learn about the butterflies to be found at Crossroads as caterpillars or adult butterflies, with capture/release activities. These family programs are free for all ages and begin at 10 am. Participants should meet in the entry level of the Collins Learning Center.
