    Door Peninsula Winery is excited to announce their 1st Annual Home Winemaker Competition for Carlsville Day, Saturday, July 31. All home vintners are welcomed to enter their homemade wines for official judging.

    From Aug. 15 – 20 Lawrence University’s Bjِrklunden in Baileys Harbor is offering the following seminars: “The United States and the Cold War, 1957-72,” “Prize-winning French Films: Envelope, Please!” and “Beauty Will Save the World: Dostoevsky’s ‘The Idiot.'”

  • Kid Can Cook

    School is in session this summer at the Savory Spoon Cooking School in Ellison Bay as popular guest instructor Amy Rebhan will be teaching two “Kids Can Cook” classes on Monday, July 26 and Tuesday, July 27.

  • UUF Presents “Movies that Matter”

    A free screening of The End of Poverty will be shown at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Ephraim on July 20 at 7 pm as part of their monthly Movies That Matter series.

  • Door County Historical Museum Celebrates CHERRIES!

    The Door County Historical Museum is hosting an all day celebration on July 24 in recognition of “CHERRIES!” In the past, Door County would begin each year with a Cherry Pie baking contest during the winter months.

    The 31st Annual Door County Folk Festival will takes place July 7 – 11. More than 60 different events are scheduled for the five-day weekend, including dance, music, and singing workshops as well as dance parties, dance demonstrations, and children’s activities.

    The Sister Bay Lions Club presents the 36th Door County Antiques Show Thursday through Saturday, July 22 – 24, at the Gibraltar High School in Fish Creek.

  • Annual Hymn Sing at Zion United

    Zion United Methodist Church will hold the first of its two annual hymn sings at 6:30 pm on Sunday, July 11. The event, which has attracted participants from over a dozen different religious dominations, features old-time hymns selected by the audience.

  • Savory Spoon Offers Tasty Events

    The Savory Spoon Cooking School in Ellison Bay will present the first “Small Bites” event on Tuesday, July 6 at 6 pm. The event will feature several small plates inspired by the seasonal garden and include a glass of wine paired with the menu.

  • Haunted Pub Crawl

    The Door County Trolley and Carrington Pub & Grill are pleased to offer a Haunted Pub Crawl. This haunted tavern tour will place visitors close to the “spirits” of Door County as they enjoy the tales of the peninsula’s haunted pubs and taverns.

    To mark the 100th birthday of the Summertime Restaurant, a Fish Creek landmark, the Gibraltar Historical Association is hosting “Gibraltar Talks… Summertime’s History 100 Years,” on Thursday, July 8.
