    Dear Mary Pat, My father is stuck in his ways. He lives in Sister Bay and every time we come up for a visit from Minnesota he takes us to the same restaurants.

  • Independent Filmmaker to Shoot in Baileys Harbor

    Rebecca Livengood and Chris Irwin are set to begin shooting a feature length movie in Door County in May. The two recently collaborated on the short film Winter Guest, which was shot in Baileys Harbor and premiered at the Door County Short Film Festival in February.

  • Rouge Theater Launches “Light the Depot” Campaign

    Rogue Theater launched their “Light the Depot” campaign on March 31st, with a goal to raise $10,000. In addition to new state of the art, energy saving LED lighting equipment, Rogue needs a sound system and theater type seating.

  • Door Shakespeare Seeks Storytellers

    Door Shakespeare, in collaboration with Write On, Door County, is seeking submissions from writers and storytellers for their inaugural, live storytelling event on June 15.

  • Midsummer’s Music Subscriptions Available

    Midsummer’s Music is offering two levels of season subscriptions this year to see world-class musicians at unique venues. A full season subscription will allow patrons to become Charter Members and to attend one concert in each of the eight programs over the summer and fall concert series for $200; a half season subscription, priced at $100, entitles patrons to attend four different concert programs.

  • Free Play Reading at Bjِrklunden

    Peninsula Players Theatre, through its program The Play’s The Thing, presents a play reading of the thought-provoking comedy A Two Story House by Kathleen Thompson at Björklunden April 7 at 7 pm.

  • Final Week for “The Drawer Boy”

    Performances of The Drawer Boy are currently underway at Third Avenue Playhouse in Sturgeon Bay. The play is directed by James Valcq, and stars Doug Mancheski, Alan Kopischke and Ryan Patrick Shaw.

  • Open Classes at The Clearing

    The Clearing has another season of weeklong classes lined up. And there are still openings for both residential and commuter students in many of the 90 classes scheduled.

  • Screening of “Living Downstream” at UUF

    Based on ecologist and cancer survivor Dr. Sandra Steingraber’s acclaimed book of the same title, Living Downstream will be shown at the UU Fellowship on April 7 at 4:30 pm.

  • Fall 50 Relay Slots Fill in One Hour

    Anyone planning to enter a team for the Door County Fall 50 an hour after registration opened at noon on April 1 were met with this message: “No April Fool’s Joke…Registration for the relay categories of the 9th Annual Door County Fall 50 reached its full capacity of 450 teams just one hour after registration opened.
