  • Small Forest and George Sawyn Perform Christmas Concert

    Base Camp’s annual Christmas concert with Small Forest and special guest George Sawyn is set for Dec. 22 from 4 – 6 pm. Small Forest performs songs like musical story poems, defined by exquisite harmonies with a strong rhythmic baseline.

    Memphis musician Eddie Smith and multi-instrumentalist Tommy Burroughs are making their first winter appearance in Door County to ring in the New Year.

    Starting Jan. 10, Ministry Door County Medical Center (MDCMC) will feature a broad range of musical concerts throughout Door County featuring blues, jazz, folk and alternative music from national touring artists to help raise funds for the Healing Project.

  • Local Kids Appear in The Depot’s Holiday Shows

    The Depot Performing Arts Center will celebrate its first Christmas program through the collaboration of Rogue Theater and Teatro Caravaggio, in the presentation of a Christmas radio double feature.

  • Don’t Miss the Ski Swap

    The annual Sevastopol Ski Swap is scheduled for Dec. 14, 8:30 am – 12 pm, at the Sevastopol Elementary gym. The swap is open to the public to buy or sell used and new cross-country ski, downhill ski and snowboard equipment along with other winter items such as skates, ski racks, clothing, etc.

  • Door County to Host National Race

    In 2014 and 2015, the Door County Fall 50 will host the USA Track & Field’s 50-mile Road Championships, a national race drawing distance runners from around the country.

    Cold, windy weather on the opening weekend of the 162nd nine-day deer season may explain why the number for bucks is down 15 percent statewide from the 2012 deer season, and down 17 percent in Door County, according to preliminary figures from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
