Carol Hoehn Instructs Tai Chi Course at Junction Center
Junction Center Yoga Studio will offer a Tai Chi course beginning June 18. Carol Hoehn returns to Door County from her other home in Taiwan to teach the oldest form of Chinese martial arts.

Corner of the Past Museum Opens for 16th Season
The 16th season of The Corner of the Past Museum, operated by the Sister Bay Historical Society, starts on June 9 and 10. Docents will be on hand from 11 am – 3 pm every weekend through the end of June.

First lady Dolley Madison will visit Ephraim on June 21, courtesy of the Ephraim Library Fund, Inc., and the Ephraim Moravian Women. Noted first lady actress Jessica Michna will portray Madison.

Dennis Hale Presents Autobiography, “Shipwrecked: Reflections of the Sole Survivor”
Dennis Hale, author of Shipwrecked: Reflections of the Sole Survivor, returns to Door County for a pair of presentations on June 21 and 22 in response to a popular appearance in Sturgeon Bay in 2011.

Mike Orthober Adds to Door County Historical Museum Display
Mike Orthober, a master taxidermist from Egg Harbor, will be mounting a specimen at the Door County Historical Museum on June 16. The specimen will be for the “Seasons of Life” display and he will be there for most of the day.

Door County Bridge Club Begins Third Season
The third season of the Door County Bridge Club began on June 1. Sanctioned by the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL), duplicate bridge games will be held every Tuesday at 12 pm and every Friday at 9 am through September.

Steel Bridge Songfest Rocks Sturgeon Bay June 7 – 10
The eighth annual Steel Bridge Songfest will once again rock the Door County town of Sturgeon Bay from June 7 – 10, with a record number of songwriters and bands performing at twelve indoor and outdoor venues.

It’s a Grand Night for Singing
Three accomplished singers from Chicago Lyric Opera will perform at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church over Memorial Day weekend. Soprano Desirée Hassler, mezzo-soprano Pamela Williams and baritone Ricardo Sepْlveda will join pianist Judy Jackson to present “It’s a Grand Night for Singing.”

Dear Readers, Several of you have written asking about advice on how to get a summer job. I have a couple of suggestions. I would think most of these would be fairly obvious; however, I’ve seen all sorts of prospective employees over the years and a frighteningly large number of them missed the mark.

On May 19, Val Konglik and Teddy Bear, a Scottish terrier dressed as a traditional Scotsman, took to the streets of Baileys Harbor with over a hundred Scottish terriers for the 12th annual Door County Scottie Rally.
