  • Fish Creek Hosts Annual Chili Cook-off

    Proud chili cooks will be battling for bragging rights and cash prizes at Fish Creek Winter Festival’s annual Chili Cook-off on Feb. 4. Prizes of $300, $200, and $100 will be awarded to first, second, and third places, respectively, with a gift package going to the People’s Choice Award.

  • “Super 8” at Door Community Auditorium

    On Jan. 20 and 21, Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will provide the second installment of its 2012 lecture and movie screening series. Both events are free to the public, though freewill donations are appreciated.

  • Sign Up for Classes at The Clearing

    Registration continues for The Clearing Folk School’s Winter Program classes with new classes starting throughout February. Over 115 day-classes are offered this year in the arts, fine crafts, natural sciences and humanities.

    Third Avenue Playhouse opened its doors on October 26, 2000 with one of American Folklore Theatre’s hit shows, Guys on Ice. Now, the two organizations are teaming up again to bring this celebrated show back to the Third Avenue Playhouse stage.

  • Door County Basketball Match-ups

    On Dec. 22 the Gibraltar Girls Basketball team hosted a Packerland Conference game against Southern Door. The Vikings lost to the visiting Eagles 39-50.

  • A Frosty Frostbite Open

    Thirty-three putters played in the second annual Frostbite Open at the Red Putter Mini Golf in Ephraim on New Year’s Day. Nick Kwaterski of Sister Bay took home the first place trophy and $700 cash.

    The Ride for Nature has announced exciting new features for the 24th annual bicycle ride along the back roads of Northern Door next summer. A new logo brings a fresh face to the event, which will feature a Metric Century (62 miles) distance for the first time this year.
