  • Lost Mothra Performs at Andre’s

    Singer/songwriter Jeanne Kuhns and her band Lost Mothra are set to perform monthly at Andre’s on the west side of Sturgeon Bay. Lost Mathra will perform from 8 – 10 pm the fourth Saturday of every month beginning June 26.

  • Harmonious Wail Performs at Martin Park

    Harmonious Wail will take the stage at Martin Park in Sturgeon Bay on Tuesday, June 29 at 7 pm. A combination of mandolin, guitar, bass, and female vocals, Harmonious Wail has toured throughout the US and Europe.

  • Maritime Friends Group Present Waterfront Concert Series

    On Sunday, June 27 the Door County Maritime Museum in Sturgeon Bay will present the first of six concerts presented by the museum’s Maritime Friends group.

  • Door Community Auditorium Features World-Renowned Musicians

    On Tuesday, June 29, the Door Community Auditorium will host three of the world’s most respected musicians. Béla Fleck (on banjo), Zakir Hussain (on Indian tabla drums), and Edgar Meyer (on string bass) form a powerhouse trio, blending classical, bluegrass, and world music in a captivating evening of genre bending and musical wizardry.

  • Single Day Workshops from DC Bluegrass Camp

    The Door County Bluegrass Camp will be offering single day workshops for those who cannot attend the entire camp, scheduled for August 1 through August 6 at Rowleys Bay in Ellison Bay.

    The Savory Spoon Cooking School is hosting an array of classes as the season gets underway. On Saturday, June 26 at 6 pm, the Savory Spoon will celebrate seasonal flavors: asparagus, rhubarb, and more.

  • Learn Chinese with the Lindens

    The public is invited to join the new “Chinese Corner,” a weekly conversation class for anyone wanting to learn and speak Mandarin, the official language of China and Singapore, spoken by an estimated 1 billion people.

  • Noble House Museum Opens for Season

    The Alexander Noble House Museum is open for the season, Tuesday through Sunday from 12 – 5 pm. A costumed guide will assist visitors as they step back in time to a Fish Creek home of the late 1800s.

    From Sunday, July 18 until Friday, July 23 Lawrence University’s Bjِrklunden is offering three seminars: “Musical Postcards from Paris,” “Berlin up Close and Personal,” and “The Media in Washington.

  • Peninsula Players Opens 75th Season with “Heroes”

    Peninsula Players Theatre located in Fish Creek opened its 75th Anniversary Season June 15 with the premiere of Gérald Sibleyras’s Heroes, translated by Tom Stoppard.

  • Cheeseheads, Mark Twain and Ghosts Take the Stage at AFT

    American Folklore Theatre’s season is officially underway in their outdoor Amphitheatre in Peninsula State Park. Embarking upon the 20th season of “theatre under the stars,” the stage will host Cheeseheads, the Musical, Life on the Mississippi and Bone Dance Life on the Mississippi will take audiences on a journey with young Samuel Clemens as he leaves his home in Hannibal, Missouri to be a cub pilot on a Mississippi steamboat in 1858.

    It seems a small miracle to my friends and musical colleagues around the world that Door County enjoys such richness in the performing arts. Perhaps more miraculous is that so many have succeeded, and that new arts organizations, thankfully, spring up every few years.

  • Marcia Henry Liebenow Presents “Irish Rhapsody”

    On Friday, June 25 and Saturday, June 26, The Birch Creek Symphony Orchestra will perform Sir Charles Villiers Stanford’s “Irish Rhapsody #6” for violin and orchestra with violin faculty member Marcia Henry Liebenow as the featured soloist.
