  • TAP Hosts Midwest Premiere of Call of Life Film

    Call of Life, a thought-provoking film on the scope of the current mass extinction crisis, is set to have its Midwest premiere at the Third Avenue Playhouse in Sturgeon Bay on Sunday, September 20 at 4 pm.

  • Fall Sale at Shepherd of the Bay

    Shepherd of the Bay’s Annual Fall Sale is planned for Saturday, October 3 from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm. The church’s sale features harvest vegetables, fruits, and flowers as well as homemade bakery and “good as new” rummage at Grandma’s Attic.

  • Ridges Sanctuary to Offer Logan Creek Hikes

    Enjoy a relaxing fall hike through the Ridges Sanctuary Logan Creek Property on Friday and Saturday, September 25 and 26. Hikes on both days will be led by Ridges Naturalist Karen Newbern and will begin at 10 am.

  • Ridges Flea Market Set For September 26

    The Ridges Sanctuary is hosting its annual Flea Market on Saturday, September 26 from 8 am – 2 pm. The market will be set up in the green space behind the Ridges Nature Center, with vendors selling a variety of new and gently used items.

  • Play at Ridges Fall Work Day

    The Ridges is holding a Work (Play) Day on Saturday, October 3 from 8:30 am – noon. Members and non-members of all ages and all levels of expertise are invited to help with a variety of indoor and outdoor projects at the Ridges Sanctuary.

  • Tickets Available for Rib Fest

    Tickets are on sale for the first-annual Door County Rib Fest, which is set for Saturday, October 3 from 4 – 8 pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
    This event, sponsored by the Neighbor-to-Neighbor Volunteer Caregivers of Door County, will feature some of the peninsula’s finest cooks sharing their signature ribs.

  • Handmade Nation Filmmaker to Speak at School of Art

    A screening of the feature-length documentary Handmade Nation will be held at the Peninsula School of Art in Fish Creek on Thursday, October 1 at 7 pm.

  • Fall Harvest Fest at Orchard Country Winery

    The leaves are slowly turning to shades of red and gold, which means the Door County apples are also crisp and ready for harvest. Join the Lautenbach family at Orchard Country Winery & Market on Saturday, September 26 at the fifth annual Fall Harvest & Wine Fest.

  • Grovogel Family Subject of Historical Program

    The Grovogel family, known for their family tradition of commercial fishing, is the subject of the latest Jacksonport Historical Society program. The program will take place Wednesday, September 23 at 7 pm at the Jacksonport Town Hall.

  • Sturgeon Bay Harvest Festival September 19

    The Sturgeon Bay Visitor’s Center is hosting their annual citywide Harvest Festival and Harvest Moon celebration on Saturday, September 19 beginning at 9 am.

  • Fish Creek Hosts Annual Inside/Outside Sale

    A favorite event of the fall season, Fish Creek’s annual Inside/Outside sale is planned for Friday through Sunday, September 25 – 27.
    This once-a-year special event features sale tents outside and seasonal values inside, as well as wine tastings, village tours, arts and crafts, music, and theatre.

  • Ephraim Village Museums Announce Fall Museum Hours

    The Ephraim Historical Foundation recently announced fall hours for the Ephraim Village Museums. The five historical buildings – the Anderson Store, Pioneer Schoolhouse, Goodletson Cabin, Anderson Barn, and the Historic Iverson House – will be open Friday and Saturday from 11 am – 4 pm through Saturday, October 10.

  • Bjorklunden Seminars Feature Iditarod, Door County and Bridge

    Lawrence University’s Björklunden is offering three seminars from Sept. 27 through October 2, which include:  “Alaska’s Iditarod – Inside the Last Great Race” with Steven Landfried; “Indian Summer in Door County” with Roy & Charlotte Lukes; and “Improve Your Bridge” with Carolyn Kimbell.

  • New Hours at DCMM

    The extended hours at the Door County Maritime Museum’s Sturgeon Bay facility have recently come to an end. The museum will still maintain daily hours throughout the year, and will be open daily 10 am – 5 pm.

  • Astronomy Weekend at Crossroads

    “Welcome to the Universe” is the theme of the 2009 Family Astronomy Weekend at Crossroads of Big Creek. The event takes place Saturday and Sunday, September 19 and 20, with the Door Peninsula Astronomical Society and Friends of Crossroads sponsoring an array of family activities designed to introduce learners of all ages to the wonders of astronomy.
