Birch Creek brings jazz and classical music to a rustic barn, Midsummer’s Music Festival tours the peninsula for intimate concerts, and the Peninsula Music Festival awes visitors and locals alike at the Door Community Auditorium each august.   • Bobby Vee & The Vees at DCA

    The legendary Bobby Vee & The Vees will take the stage at the Door Community Auditorium on Sunday, August 23 at 8 pm.
    An aspiring musician, Vee, along with his brother Bill and two friends, formed The Shadows, a popular local band in the town of Fargo, North Dakota in 1959.

  • Upcoming Piano Concerts at Bjorklunden

    Lawrence University’s Bjorklunden is featuring a piano concert on Tuesday, September 1 at 7:30 pm. The Arcos Trio, comprised of Seunghee Lee, Carl Donakowski and Anthony Padilla, will be performing.

  • Bob Kase Quartet at Birch Creek

    Birch Creek Music Performance Center’s “Jazz in Juniper” series continues with a performance by the Bob Kase Quartet on Friday, August 21 at 8 pm.

  • Birch Creek Receives Arts Board Grant

    Birch Creek Music Performance Center is pleased to announce that it has received a matching grant of $26,615 from the Wisconsin Arts Board. This grant was awarded through the “Creation & Presentation” Program, and will support Birch Creek’s mission of providing intensive, performance-based instruction to promising young musicians by immersing them in a professional, mentoring environment.

  • “A Nite to Remember” Show Features Two Gibraltar Grads

    The Doo-Wop Daddies, a Milwaukee-based musical act, will bring their own style of “21st Century Doo-Wop” to the Door Community Auditorium for “A Nite to Remember” Saturday, September 12 at 8 pm.

  • Prima Vera Strings to Play Final Woodwalk Show

    Prima Vera Strings, a string trio composed of Lynn Gudmundsen, Beth Chafey-Hon, and Hans Christian, takes the stage at Woodwalk Gallery for the final concert of its Summer Series.

  • Hagen Family Returns to TAP

    The Hagen family brings their legendary tradition of music back to Sturgeon Bay’s Third Avenue Playhouse for one performance on Saturday, August 22 at 7:30 pm.

  • Violinist Ilya Kaler to Substitute for Valentin Zhuk at PMF Concert

    Violinist Ilya Kaler has agreed on short notice to substitute for Peninsula Music Festival concertmaster Valentin Zhuk. Mr. Zhuk was to have performed the Khatchatourian Violin Concerto as the featured soloist on Tuesday, August 18 during the Festival’s 57th Season.

  • Harmonious Wail at Peg Egan PAC

    Harmonious Wail, a group that blends jazz, swing, and gypsy music with melodic vocals, will take the stage of Egg Harbor’s Peg Egan Performing Arts Center on Sunday, August 16 at 7 pm.

  • Golden Dragon Acrobats at Southern Door Auditorium

    The Golden Dragon Acrobats, the world’s leading Chinese acrobatic troupe, will take the stage at the Southern Door Auditorium on Wednesday, August 19 for two shows at 2 pm and 7:30 pm.

  • Glas Coffeehouse to Host Music Performances

    Glas, the green coffeehouse in Sturgeon Bay, will extend its business hours to offer free live entertainment.

  • Yellow CD Release Concert at Flying Pig

    Harpists Tammy Naze and Cheryl Murphy will be performing at The Flying Pig in Algoma on Sunday, August 30 from 1 – 4 pm to celebrate the release of their latest CD, Yellow.

    Lawrence University’s Bjorklunden is featuring two piano concerts in the upcoming weeks, the first being held on Tuesday, August 18 at 7:30 pm.

  • Stombres Celebrates 20 Years at Birch Creek

    This summer marks the 20th season at Birch Creek Music Performance Center for trumpet faculty member Jim Stombres. A talented and versatile music educator, Jim has assumed positions including, but not limited to, assistant to the program director, Studio Band director, and associate faculty member performing with the Birch Creek Academy Band.

  • Peninsula Players Announce August Seminar

    Peninsula Players Technical Director Scott Boyle and Stage Manager Sara Gammage will give a peek backstage on Saturday, August 29 from 2:30 – 4 pm in “How’d They Do That?” Boyle and Gammage will demonstrate some of the stage tricks employed in the thriller Wait Until Dark and give attendees an up-close, onstage look at how they are achieved.

  • Is He Dead? On Stage at Peninsula Players

    Now on stage at Peninsula Players through August 16 is Mark Twain’s madcap comedy Is He Dead? Adapted by David Ives, the show tells the story of struggling painters scheming to sell their works by faking the death of their mentor, Jean-François Millet.
