Door County is home to a selection of performance venues and ensembles unmatched by any other small communities in America. Birch Creek brings jazz and classical music to a rustic barn, Midsummer’s Music Festival tours the peninsula for intimate concerts, and the Peninsula Music Festival awes visitors and locals alike at the Door Community Auditorium each august.   • DCA Welcomes United States Coast Guard Band

    From its home at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut, the United States Coast Guard Band will travel to the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek to present “Liberty for All,” a concert set for Friday, July 24 at 8 pm.

  • Dorothy Scott and Chris Kasper at Door County Outpost

    National touring artists Dorothy Scott and Chris Kasper will take the Door County Outpost stage on Thursday, July 30 at 7:30 pm.
    Dorothy Scott’s diverse proto-folk might echo such artists as Kate Bush, Ani DiFranco, and Richard Thompson, but the New York/Wisconsin-based singer/songwriter wisely chooses to avoid living in those shadows.

  • Big Bands are Back at Birch Creek

    Birch Creek’s Academy Big Band is composed of professional musicians and educators from New York to Las Vegas and places in between. Burgeoning and established jazz stars meet inside one of their favorite performance venues:  the historic Dutton Concert Barn on the Birch Creek campus.

  • Annual Washington Island Music Festival Set for August 3 – 14

    Summer 2009 marks the 18th annual Washington Island Music Festival, set for Monday, August 3 through Friday, August 14. This two-week event is filled with evening concerts, a music camp and concert for children, workshops, and more.

  • Carrie Newcomer on Stage at DCA

    Passionate and prosaic, Carrie Newcomer is a new-age folk singer/songwriter whose music has earned her praise from both fans and critics alike. On Saturday, July 18 at 8 pm, the Door Community Auditorium will present the acclaimed performer in a concert that promises a little blues, a little gospel, a little pop, and a whole lot of soul.

  • July Events at the Door County Outpost

    July is a busy month at the Door County Outpost, with several music-oriented events happening all in the same week.
    On Saturday July 18, Adam Mackintosh and Anna Sacks will again be hosting the popular Songwriter Showcase at the Outpost – this time, in the great out-of-doors.

  • Young Talent Sought for Door County Fair

    The Door County Fair is looking for young emerging artists (21 years old or under) to perform on the Festival Stage on Friday, August 7.
    Anyone who is a comedian, a solo musician, a dance group, or part of a band is encouraged to get up on the Festival Stage and perform.
