Door County is renowned nationwide for it’s array of local, independent theater in settings unlike any other. There’s the historic Peninsula Players on the water, Northern Sky Theatre in the woods of Peninsula State Park, and Door Shakespeare in the gardens of Bjorklunden.   • Opportunities for Kids at Rouge Theater

    Rogue Theater and The Depot Performing Arts Center present “Great Americans” – a collection of patriotic speeches, quotes, songs and poems depicting the inspiring Americans who changed history – on May 23 and 24, 7:30 pm.

  • An Island Performance

    StageKids at Third Avenue Playhouse offer a Theatre Lab for middle and high school students, May 7 – June 14. For six weeks, students will meet twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays working with professionals from the Stage Door Theatre Company, TAP’s professional resident theatre company.

  • Rogue Theater Performs Mystery Murder Dinner Theater

    Rogue Theater announces their upcoming show: Talk About A Murder!, a murder mystery by Lee Mueller and directed by Carrie Counihan. In the play, two talk show hosts Nicky and Rickie Rivers, played by Christine Salmon and Stuart Champeau, interview other characters, such as: Vegas singers Shecky Scagnetti (Bill Bauernfeind) and Edie Buffet (Lola DeVillers), home economist Phoebe St.

  • AFT Will Reveal New Name May 25

    In January of 2014, American Folklore Theatre (AFT) announced that, beginning officially in 2015, the award-winning Door County troupe would debut a new name.

    The next event for the Depot Performing Arts Center’s “Light the Depot” fundraising campaign to purchase energy saving LED stage lights is a rummage and bake sale from April 25 to 27.

  • Door Shakespeare Wants to Know Your Story

    Inspired by Door Shakespeare’s 2014 season, featuring King Lear and The Comedy Of Errors, the organizations are seeking true, non-fiction stories from the community based on the theme: lost and found.

  • Shimmy Marcus Night Set for May 24

    The Door County Short Film Festival (DCSFF) presents Shimmy Marcus Night on May 24 at 7 pm at the Town Hall in Sister Bay. DCSFF will be showing a short and a feature length film by renowned Irish filmmaker Shimmy Marcus, winner of the 2014 Door County Short Film Festival.

  • Ticket Sales Open for AFT

    American Folklore Theatre (AFT) announces ticket sales for the 2014 summer and fall seasons in Door County. This season includes three musicals playing in rotating repertory at their outdoor amphitheater in Peninsula State Park and a fall run of The Bachelors at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek.

  • A Powerful Piece of Theater: Third Avenue Playhouse presents ‘columbinus’

    “Do you remember the Columbine shootings?” Director Robert Boles asked 11 Door County high school students gathered for their first rehearsal of columbinus – a play that examines the day in the life of archetypal high school students and what happened on April 20, 1999, when two students opened fire in Columbine High School.

  • Independent Filmmaker to Shoot in Baileys Harbor

    Rebecca Livengood and Chris Irwin are set to begin shooting a feature length movie in Door County in May. The two recently collaborated on the short film Winter Guest, which was shot in Baileys Harbor and premiered at the Door County Short Film Festival in February.
