Environmental Fund Now Accepting Applications

The Door County Community Foundation (DCCF) announced recently that it is inviting local charities to submit applications for financial support from the foundation’s Environmental Fund.

This is just one of several new granting initiatives that were recently launched by the DCCF. Thanks to the generosity of both year-round and seasonal residents, the DCCF also offers grants to charities out of its Arts Fund, Health and Human Needs Fund, Lifelong Education Fund, and the Children and Youth Fund.

“Door County is blessed with an abundance of natural resources,” says Bret Bicoy, President & CEO of the DCCF. “From our lakeshore to the wetlands, our orchards to the meadows, the open spaces and our rural roads – there is something about the beauty of this place that keeps us here or calls us back each year.”

The DCCF welcomes applications from traditional environmental organizations that are working to sustain and preserve our environment. However, it also encourages non-environmental charities to bring forth ideas on how they might incorporate an environmentally conscious perspective into their work.

Applications are available online at http://www.doorcountycommunityfoundation.org. Applications and all supporting materials must be received at the DCCF by Friday, September 12.
