Ephraim Historical Foundation Names Schreck As New Director

The Ephraim Historical Foundation has selected Cody Schreck as its new executive director. He will oversee the operations of the nonprofit organization that stewards robust archives; offers programs, tours and educational opportunities; and works to preserve five historical sites and seven historical structures.

Schreck was hired as the foundation’s curator and collections manager in February of 2021 and since then has been preserving Ephraim’s history and making it publicly accessible. His promotion is a continuation of his dedication to historic preservation and interpretation in the community. Schreck also chairs the Heritage Alliance of Door County and is the northeastern representative of the Wisconsin Council for Local History.

Previously, he worked with museums and historical societies in Milwaukee, including the Milwaukee County Historical Society. He holds a master’s degree in public history, museum studies and nonprofit management from UW-Milwaukee.
