Ephraim Men’s Club Holds Pancake Breakfast for Scholarship Funds

Eight graduates of Gibraltar High School have won college scholarships from the Ephraim Men’s Club. The club’s annual breakfast to raise scholarship money for Northern Door students is Aug. 6. It runs from 7:30 to 11 am at the old Ephraim Village Hall, 9996 Water St. Tickets are $10 adults, $6 children. Diners can win door prizes. Chairman Jim Reeve said, “We’re aiming to set a new record this year in money raised and pancakes served.”

Awarded four-year scholarships are Ian Hoffman, Julia Potter and Olivia Potter, all of Sister Bay.

One-year scholarships go to Madalyn Gray, Baileys Harbor; Alejandra Jáuregui, Fish Creek; Lauren Kita, Baileys Harbor; Jacob Kordon, Ephraim; and Samuel Shabitt, Ephraim.

Over the past five decades the men’s club has raised more than $200,000 for scholarships. Proceeds come from ticket sales and contributions from businesses, Ephraim residents and men’s club members.
