Ephraim Moravian Church Hosts John Hus Festival

The John Hus Festival at Ephraim Moravian Church is a celebration of the life of John Hus, and is set for July 6 at 7 pm.

The program will feature music from the Ephraim, Sister Bay and Sturgeon Bay Moravian Churches’ choirs, scripture, a meditation on the life of John Hus and a Moment for Mission (New York City youth mission).

Hus was born in 1369 in Bohemia and believed people should be permitted to read the Bible in their own language, and opposed the tyranny of the Roman church. Hus was burned at the stake in 1415 for his beliefs. Followers of Hus gathered to organize the Unity of the Brethren (Moravian Church) in 1457.

The Ephraim Moravian Church is located at 9970 Moravia Street, in Ephraim. For more information call 920.854.2804.
