Ephraim Road Closure Begins March 18

Ephraim’s highway-reconstruction project will begin March 18. Village Administrator Brent Bristol announced the updated plan after meeting with engineers and the construction team March 1.

When construction begins, Highway 42 from the Ephraim beach to the Fire House Museum will be closed to through traffic, and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation detour will go into effect.

Residents will have access to homes and businesses in the closure area but should expect delays. The village is placing additional signage at County Q and Highway 57 to direct drivers using the detour to get to Ephraim via County Q.

The village has instructed business owners to inform delivery vehicles and contractors to follow the detour route and avoid using the village’s back roads as much as possible due to limited visibility at intersections and narrow road widths on those roadways.
