Erik Elliott Awarded Door Property Owners Scholarship

Erik Elliott was the first recipient of the Door Property Owners $1,000 scholarship. The Senior Awards Program at Sturgeon Bay High School was May 30. Board member Kathie Vavra presented Elliott with his scholarship. Before announcing his name, Vavra quoted directly from the last part of his essay, describing what he values most about Door County, “I want the same dazzling sunsets and rocky shoreline to be there for my great-grandchildren to fall in love with the same way I did. Pursuing a career in sustainability will be my way of helping to make this happen and for Door County’s natural beauty to be enjoyed by generations to come.”

Elliott will be an engineering major at UW – Madison in the fall.
