Activities at the Park
August 23, 2017
9am. “Trails of Newport” Challenge Hike. Week 13 – Final Hike. The goal is to hike all the trails at Newport. This hike is Europe Bay Trail, 7 miles. Meet at Lot 3. Picnic lunch celebrating the completion of the challenge to follow. Free. Park vehicle sticker required.
8:30pm. Star Gazing at Newport. Enjoy the dark sky during the night of the new moon. Bring binoculars, telescopes or use one of ours. This informal gathering is open to all. Held if skies are clear. To protect night vision, use a flashlight or head lamp with a red filter. Meet at Lot 3. Rain/bad conditions date: Aug. 24, same time. Free. Park vehicle sticker required.
