Every Day Is Earth Day Festival Includes Big Creek Watershed Day

In collaboration with the 2021 Every Day Is Earth Day Festival, Crossroads at Big Creek (crossroadsatbigcreek.org), 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay, will host Big Creek Watershed Day on April 25, 1-3 pm, when learners of all ages can learn about watersheds through demonstrations, wetland tours, a “Hide and Go Seep” discovery hunt and other activities. A map will be available to guide those who want to tour the 21-mile perimeter of the Big Creek Watershed by bike, car or on foot.

Continuing through the fall, Crossroads is also hosting weekly Habitat Healer work parties on Saturdays, 9:30-11:30 am. Tasks will be determined by need and the weather. Join the next work party – April 17 – for the entire time or just part of it.

Door County Soil and Water conservationist Brian Forest will present “A Beginner’s Guide to Using the Door County Map Portal” virtually on April 27, 7 pm. The map portal is freely available to everyone with WiFi access to find your watershed address and lots more about your property. Email [email protected] with “DC Map Portal” as the subject line to receive a link to the presentation.
