Exciting Inaugural Season

“Passion” by Ginnie Cappaert.

Cappaert Contemporary Gallery is a new gallery opening May 7 in the former Dovetail Gallery space in Egg Harbor. Ginnie Cappaert, the new owner, is excited to represent 30 regional and national artists working in a variety of media including painting, sculpture, glass, clay and jewelry.

Scheduled for May 16, 1 – 6 pm, is a jewelry demonstration and trunk show. Featured jewelry artists are Candyce Westfield of Minnesota and Beth Millner of Michigan. Westfield works with found stones and beach glass as well as “metal clay” to create her original pieces. Often she uses natural items, such as leaves, to create the textures in her metal clay pieces.

Millner builds her artful necklaces and earrings by sawing and layering multiple layers of metals, many inspired by the landscapes around us.

The gallery also has a working studio where Cappaert can often be found working. She plans to schedule some studio demo days throughout the summer where visitors can drop in at the studio to watch her work. Cappaert Contemporary Gallery is located at 7901 Hwy. 42 in Egg Harbor.
