Edgewood Orchard Galleries will host an opening reception for “Exhibit II” on June 11 from 4 – 7 pm. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served and the public is welcome. On display through July 12, “Exhibit II” will feature the work of painters Linda Koenig, Tom Nachreiner, and George Shipperley, sculptor Chris Jauquet, glass artists Stephen Gartner and Danielle Blade, and jeweler Lilly Barrack. The featured artists will present short talks about their artwork at 5 pm in the gallery courtyard.
Koenig, a Madison-based watercolorist whose work will be featured, said, “I am always, in my paintings and in my life, striving for simplicity, and always watching for places of grace.”
Oil painter Nachreiner of Waukesha, who has been invited back for the fifth time to the Door County Plein Air Festival, will have his work on display along with Illinois-based oil pastel painter Shipperley, who said, “The origin of my work comes from imagination which I then use to create a good compositional landscape or still life.”
Sculptor Jauquet will exhibit new woodcarvings, bronze sculptures and large outdoor steel sculptures while Southwest-based jeweler Barrack will display her one-of-a-kind pieces created in sterling silver, 14K gold, and untreated natural stones.
Finally, Massachusetts glass artists Gartner and Blade will feature blown and sculpted glassworks that combines their individual ideas, techniques, and experiences.
