Exhibit IV Reception at Edgewood Orchard Galleries

“Rocket, King of the Desert” by William A. Suys, Jr.

Edgewood Orchard Galleries will host the Exhibit IV reception on August 10, 4 – 7 pm. Wine, cheeses and hors d’oeuvres will be served in the gallery courtyard, and the public is welcome.

The exhibit features the artwork of painters Mary Ulm Mayhew, William A. Suys, Jr. and Dave Tilton, bronze sculptor C.T. Whitehouse and jeweler Regina Imbsweiler. The artists will speak about their artwork at 5 pm in the gallery courtyard. Suys, Jr. will hold a free painting demonstration on Aug. 11, 1 – 3 pm.

Mayhew is an accomplished oil painter, and among her collectors is the mayoral office of Stroncone, Italy.

Suys, Jr. is known for both his excellent portrait work and his artistic take on animals and people. He says, “My joy as an artist is to create work that possesses its own artistic heart and soul.”

In discussing his innovative process, Tilton says, “My work is experimental and created in a digital environment. It is modeled after concepts used in the creation and synthesis of sounds for electronic music composition.”

Whitehouse has created several fountains and other sculptural pieces that are now displayed in the gallery’s sculpture garden. “The intent of my work with bronze is simply, to express the nature and the beauty of the material itself,” says Whitehouse.

Atlanta-based jeweler Regina Imbsweiler brought a new collection to Edgewood for this exhibit. Her favorite techniques combine silver and gold in an elaborate overlay that uses delicate, hand-drawn wires in flowing lines to create a unique look.

Exhibit IV runs through August 28. Edgewood Orchard Galleries is located at 4140 Peninsula Players Road, midway between Egg Harbor and Fish Creek. For more information, call 920.868.3579 or visit edgewoodorchard.com.
