Exhibit V at Edgewood Opens with Reception

Edgewood Orchard Galleries will celebrate the opening of its fifth and final show of the gallery’s 2009 season with a reception from 1 – 5 pm on Saturday, September 26. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served in the main gallery, and the public is welcome.

Exhibit V will feature the paintings by award-winning artist Tom Nachreiner. Nachreiner will be at Edgewood Orchard Galleries throughout the Saturday afternoon opening reception conducting a painting demonstration and answering questions about his work.

Driven by a passion for excellence, painter Tom Nachreiner spent his earlier years as a nationally known figurative illustrator. More recent years have afforded him the privilege of a fine art rebirth, painting from his heart “en plein air” and giving year round workshops. A very accomplished Plein Air painter, Nachreiner was twice awarded a “People’s Choice Award” while participating in the Door County Plein Air Festival.

In addition to the paintings of Tom Nachreiner, the final exhibit of Edgewood Orchard’s season will also includes the gallery’s 11th annual “Gifts from the Heart” show of artwork especially good for gift-giving.

A popular gift idea has been the new Edgewood Orchard cookbook, An Artist’s Food for the Soul. The cookbook is full of favorite recipes, images of beautiful artwork, and a delightful collection of stories spanning the past 40 years at the gallery. Published in early July, the cookbook has already raised over $31,000 all of which will be donated to non-profit programs benefitting children.

Included in the “Gifts from the Heart” exhibit will be smaller paintings from many different gallery artists, as well as a new selection of jewelry, smaller glass and clay pieces and holiday stationary items that were not available earlier in the gallery season. Free holiday gift wrapping is available for all items.

Edgewood Orchard Galleries, located on Peninsula Players Road, one block east of Hwy. 42, between Egg Harbor and Fish Creek., is open 10 am – 5 pm daily through November 1.
