Explore a New Medium at Artists Guild

Artists Guild is offering “Art Fundamentals” once a month to give participants a short history and working foundation in various media. This month’s chosen medium is “Soft Pastels,” a versatile and simple-to-use art form. Sarah and Jeff Bradley, instructors and owners of Artists Guild, will teach the class on Jan. 26, 10 am – 12 pm.

This class is open to individuals, age 16 years old and up, of all skill levels. All materials are provided and each student will create a piece of art. The cost is $30.

The Artists Guild will also offer two free events in January. “Art Speak,” a monthly program exploring topical art issues, takes place Jan. 19, 10 am – 12 pm. The Healing Arts is the topic, and the documentary I Remember Better When I Paint will be shown, with a discussion to follow.

A free session of Portrait Drawing will be offered on Jan. 20, 2 – 4 pm, in the drawing studio. Operating in the same vein as the Life Drawing Guild, this is a self-guided opportunity with no instruction. Participants bring their own materials, but easels and tables are provided. All skill levels are invited.

Pre-registration is required for all these events. To register or for more information call 920.743.9900 or visit the Artists Guild at 215 N. Third Avenue in Sturgeon Bay.
