Explore Russia’s Terrain at Final Travelogue Series

On April 26 the Kiwanis & Rotary Clubs of Northern Door will present the final travel film of the season with an epic train journey on rails across the vast terrain of Russia.

Mary Lee Nolan and Sidney Nolan will present Rails Across Russia: from St. Petersburg to the Pacific. The Nolans have worked in the field of educational media production for over 35 years. They bring to their work the technical skills of videography and multi-media production, and a professional understanding of the topics.

Taking six and a half days to travel more than 8,500 miles through eight time zones, the ‘Trans-Siberian’ or Rossiam, is one of the great train rides of the world. The passage by rail carries its passengers from the Russian capital of Moscow to the Pacific port city of Vladivostok.

Viewers will experience the country’s enormous ethnic diversity and extreme climatic contrasts; and learn about its long history, including the differences between Western and European Russia, Siberia, and Asian Russia.

The screening is set for 7:30 pm at First Baptist Church of Sister Bay. Tickets are $7; children are admitted for free.
