Explore The Ridges Sanctuary by Day and Night

Join a Ridges naturalist at The Ridges Sanctuary for a relaxing, informative, guided hike Tuesdays – Fridays, 10 am. It includes the Upper Range Light lantern room and historical cabins and is appropriate for all ages. Groups are limited to six. Meet at the Cook-Albert Fuller Nature Center, 8166 Hwy 57 in Baileys Harbor. The cost is $5 per member, $8 per member of the public, and free for ages 18 and younger.

The Ridges will also host a Family Conservation Day on Aug. 13, 1-2:30 pm. Learn how to reduce your carbon footprint and incorporate methods to reduce waste. The program is limited to nine participants; advance registration is required. Meet at Cook-Albert Fuller Nature Center.

You can also explore The Ridges at night! During a night hike on the boardwalk Aug. 14, 8-9:30 pm, learn about the creatures that become active after the sun goes down, and check out how the range lights work as a navigational aid. Participants should not take flashlights, wear light-up shoes or have other luminary devices so that their eyes can adjust to the dark. The program is limited to six participants; advance registration is required. The cost is $5 for members, $8 for members of the public, and free for ages 18 and younger. Meet at the Cook-Albert Fuller Nature Center.
