by Beth Lokken, Youth Services Librarian, Door County Library

Thinking of changing careers? Preparing for an entrance exam? Learning Express Library, brought to you by BadgerLink, is a shared state resource with information about career and test preparation, high school equivalency learning and skill building. Anyone who lives, works or goes to school in Wisconsin has access to this excellent resource, and the Door County Library is the portal to reach it.

Go to doorcountylibrary.org/download, and scroll down to the link for the Learning Express Library. There are seven categories within it, each of which contains test preparation, e-books and practice tests.

The Career Preparation category includes resources for people taking exams in law enforcement, nursing, civil service, the military, real estate and more. The High School Equivalency Center focuses on preparing for the GED and HiSET exams. The College Admissions Test Preparation category focuses on exams such as the SAT and ACT, as well as admissions-essay writing.

The School Center is useful for elementary, middle and high school students who are looking for help with their coursework. The College Students category focuses on skills reviews, placement exams and graduate exams. The Adult Core Skills category includes programs to help users improve their personal skills and practice for the Citizenship Test. And finally, the Recursos para Hispanohablantes category contains all of the Adult Core Skills programs in Spanish.

Signing into the Learning Express Library keeps track of exam progress during each visit and allows users to learn and work when it fits their schedule. Reach career and school goals with help from the Door County Library and the Learning Express Library.
