Expressions in Stone at Bazyli

Skye, a Baileys Harbor artist whose most recent work “Shakespeare’s in the Alley: A Tribute to Bob Dylan” was installed at the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has had a long career as a visual artist. She and her husband, fiber artist and designer Peter Ciesla, run Bazyli Studio Wearable Art Gallery in Baileys Harbor, where they are resident artists with studios adjacent to the gallery.

Most people who are familiar with Skye know about her wearable art, but she also worked as a stone sculptor in the Chicago area from 1987 until 2002, when she created more than 140 stone pieces. Most are in collections around the country, but she has a small group of work remaining from that period. Stop by Skye’s studio next to Bazyli Studio Wearable Art to see her stone work.
