Fair Trade for Talent & Songwriter Showcase Events at Door County Outpost

Fair Trade for Talent Project Launched at Door County Outpost

Almost a year in the making, the Door County Outpost has announced dates and final details for its new music project, Fair Trade for Talent.

With over 400 applications coming in from around the country, the Outpost is staging a different sort of talent show. Aimed at giving back to the music community, the Fair Trade for Talent project provides a stage for upcoming talented musicians to show their potential in front of a live audience and panel of celebrity judges. The initial application pool of 400 plus will be pared down and a line-up of 18 bands/musicians will be selected to compete for a prize fund. The competition will take place over six consecutive Tuesday evenings from June 30 to the Grand Finale on Saturday August 15.

On top of a cash prize and awards for each of the six stage winners, the Grand Finale winner will receive a lucrative contract for headlining a top Door County venue in 2010. Additional incentives are also included, with the goal of launching the Fair Trade for Talent winner onto a path towards a successful music career.

Three bands/musicians will take center stage each Tuesday night, and the six stage finalists will return on August 15 to compete on stage for the privilege of being Door County’s very first Fair Trade for Talent winner.

Shows start at 7 pm, and the cost of admission is $7/person. For more details on the Fair Trade for Talent project, including applications, please call 920.868.4321 or visit http://www.doorcountyoutpost.com.
