Organizers of the Peninsula Century Fall Challenge hosted the largest field of cyclists in the event’s eight-year history Sept. 18. More than 750 registrants chose from among four routes throughout Door County.
The event was launched in 2013, when Sister Bay was looking for new ways to celebrate the recently expanded Waterfront Park. This year, riders came from all over the country, including a large group from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The event benefits seven local charities whose supporters help riders cover distances of 25, 50, 62 and 100 miles in northern Door County. Next year’s ride will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, in Sister Bay. Visit peninsulacenturyfallchallenge.com for more information.
