Fall Fest, Haunted Mansion & More Weekend Plans

Fall Fest weekend is almost upon us! Take in the festival’s fun offerings by staying put in Sister Bay, or branch out and enjoy a variety of autumn activities through the peninsula with hikes, animal programs, a haunted house and artist receptions.

Friday, October 14

Fall Fest in Sister Bay

It’s the granddaddy of all Door County festivals and this year, Fall Fest turns 71! Head over to Sister Bay’s main drag for a weekend of great live music, a huge arts and crafts fair, parade, games and activities for kids, street food and beverages, and for the first time ever, a 50/50 raffle!

Southern Door Haunted Mansion

Confront your deepest fears in the dark corners of Quietwoods South Camping Resort during the 11th season of the award-winning Southern Door Haunted Mansion. All proceeds from the volunteer-run haunted house benefits students in the district. 7 pm.

Mighty Mouth

Catch the blues on your Friday night in Door County with local favorites Mighty Mouth at The Cookery. 8 pm.

Saturday, October 15

Juddville Clay Thanks You

Juddville Clay Studio will host a reception to thank its patrons for 10 successful years in Juddville with seasonal refreshments, an array of indoor and outdoor works, and the debut of artist Tony Staroska’s new Garden Totems. 10 am.

Victorian Wedding Customs and Gowns

Head over to the Alexander Noble House Museum before the end of the season to revisit wedding customs, clothing and memories of the early 20th century. 10 am.

Was That A Wolf?

Join Newport State Park staff as they discuss wolves, coyotes and other members of the dog family during an informative presentation. 1 pm.

Haunted Trolley Pub Crawl

Enjoy the spirits of Door County with a trolley tour delivering intoxicating tales of four of the peninsula’s haunted pubs and taverns. Each ticket comes with a souvenir flashing skull mug! 7 pm.

Sunday, October 16

Chili Cook-off

Chilly temps call for bowls of chili! Head over to Stone Harbor in Sturgeon Bay for its 11th annual chili cookoff. Judging takes place during the first quarter of the Packers-Cowboys game and guests can enjoy the array of chilis with other halftime appetizers.

Take A Hike

Strap on some sturdy walking shoes and embark on a rugged, docent-led hike at The Clearing Folk School in Ellison Bay. 1 pm.

Roots, Rock and Reggae Grooves

Relax after a long Fall Fest weekend with the reggae beats of Unity at JJ’s in Sister Bay. 9 pm.
