Fall Flowers of the Door Peninsula

Crossroads at Big Creek will host several hikes to enjoy autumn flowers before they are gone. First, they are holding a lecture on “Fall Flowers of the Door Peninsula” on Sept. 21 at 2 pm. This illustrated lecture will show the variety and beauty of fall flowers. Meet in the lecture hall at the Collins Learning Center.

“Wildlife Hike: The Fields of Ida Bay” is scheduled for Sept. 22 at 10 am. Participants explore the open areas of the Ida Bay Preserve. Meet at the Parking lot at the Buffalo Ridge Trail and Canal Road intersection.

There are not many woodland wildflowers, but the color season should getting underway so participants will see beauty during the “Autumn Woodland Wildflowers of Ida Bay” hike. This hike is scheduled for Sept. 23 at 1 pm. Those interested should meet at the Zenith Street Entrance.

Crossroads is a donor supported learning center made up of three preserves. The Collins Learning Center, located at 2041 Michigan, is open 2 – 4:30 pm daily and during scheduled events. All events and trails are free and open to the public.
