Fall Is a Great Time to Hike at Crossroads

Fall is a great time to hike at Crossroads at Big Creek. The leaves are turning, and the scent of autumn is in the air.

On Oct. 18, 3:30 pm, the Friday Film will be a video of the “We Are Water” presentation that renowned diver and cave explorer Jill Heinerth gave as the 2019 Water Summit’s keynote speaker. The film will be shown in the Collins Learning Center’s lecture hall.

Join the naturalist at the Collins Learning Center for a fall color hike Oct. 19, 11 am. Hikers are sure to see nipped twigs and other signs of the season.

Then join an hour-long green-and-gold hike Oct. 20, 4 pm. Whatever the outcome of the football game, exercise will feel good, and nature will be showing lots of green and gold. Meet at the Collins Learning Center.

Join the Door County Beekeepers Club on Oct. 22, 6:30 pm, for its monthly meeting, which is open to the public. Sue Dompke of Sweet Mountain Farms will present the program.

The Collins Learning Center, 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay, is open daily, 10 am – 4 pm, and during scheduled events.
