Fall Showcase Presents Fiber Arts

The Jacksonport Craft Cottage is pleased to present a “Fall Showcase” on Oct. 17 and 18, where two talented Door County fiber artists, Paddy Elliott and Mike Andrews, will be featured. The self-taught fiber artists will present their particular crafts, such as spinning, crochet, felting, knitting and weaving throughout the weekend.

Elliot learned to crochet at the age of 18 and became involved in the art of felting wool when she and her husband Lyman purchased their hobby farm in Erin, WI in 1995. Elliot started selling her creations at the local farm market, and now she and her husband Lyman own and operate Elliott’s Mercantile in Sturgeon Bay where she displays all of her fiber art.

Andrews has been hand knitting for over 40 years. Being a “multi-crafter,” she has interests in fiber arts of all kinds, as well as paper crafts and other media. The items she knits are made to be attractive and warm and are meant to be worn for years to come. Andrews and her husband Doug have lived and raised their family in Door County since 1972.

The Jacksonport Craft Cottage, located at 6275 Highway 57 in downtown Jacksonport, is open from 9 am – 5 pm.
