The Family Centers of Door County announced a social outing that provides a chance for both experts and novices to enjoy ballroom dancing. “A Night Under the Stars: Ballroom Dance & Evening Social” will take place on April 9 from 6 – 9 pm at the Southern Door Family Center, located at 1400 County Road DK in Brussels.
This date night will begin with introductions and an hour of dance instruction for beginners with husband and wife team Diane Redelin and Glenn Mandel. The two train and compete in Silver Ballroom Dance and their focus is on preparing couples for weddings and social dancing events.
Couples will learn a few easy ballroom dance steps and be able to try out their newfound skills with more dancing and socializing until 9 pm. Those more advanced in their dancing skills are encouraged to join the new students at 7 pm.
Refreshments and hors devours will be provided during the course of the evening. The cost to attend is a suggested fee of $10 per person and includes food, beverage, dance lessons, and socializing. This reasonably priced social has been made possible with a grant from the Sturgeon Bay Noon Rotary. Reservations are required as space is limited.
