Family Day Celebration at the Door County Maritime Museum

The Door County Maritime Museum (DCMM) and the Family Centers of Door County will jointly unveil a new event on Sunday, November 23, designed to foster family fun and interaction for community members. Family Day Celebration will be held from 1 – 5 pm at the museum in Sturgeon Bay. The event is being staged to help celebrate National Family Week (November 23 – 29).

Numerous children’s activities are planned for a variety of ages. Tickets are free and must be reserved in advance. They will provide free admission to the Maritime Museum as well as tours of the Tug ‘John Purves.’ Other activities include a scavenger hunt throughout the museum, storytelling and an assortment of craft projects. There will be a clown on the premises and there will be the opportunity to get a photo taken on the lifeboat of the “Freshwater Fury” exhibit for $5. Refreshments will be provided.

Advance tickets are available by calling either the Family Centers of Door County office at 920.825.1430 or the Maritime Museum at 920.743.5958. Reservations are strongly recommended by Friday, November 21 to ensure admission, and must include at least two generations of family members.
