Crossroads at Big Creek is launching a week of activities with a make-and-take craft on June 30, 10 am, and the make-and-take activities will continue weekly in the Collins Learning Center.
The July 3, 10 am, family nature program focuses on glaciers. Participants will learn about the Ice Age glaciers that gave the Midwest its Great Lakes and explore how glacial ice has transformed our landscapes in other ways. Meet at the Collins Learning Center.
Family nature programming will continue July 5, 10 am, when participants will explore insects’ life cycles, from egg to adult. Hand lenses and collection sets will be provided. Meet at the Collins Learning Center.
If you like to garden and are interested in giving native pollinators a helping hand, volunteer to help Crossroads’ Pollinator Pals on July 6, 8:30 am. Volunteers meet at the Collins Learning Center to work on restoring the front pollinator garden, and Crossroads provides instructions, equipment and coffee. The group will meet regularly on Thursdays, 8:30-10:30 am, but if Thursdays don’t work for you, email Laurel Hauser at [email protected].
The Collins Learning Center will be closed on July 4 in observance of Independence Day, but the trails and nature preserves will remain open.
