Family Nature Investigations Held at The Ridges Sanctuary

Family fun continues at The Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor on June 25 with “A Boreal Forest Quest.” As part of The Ridges No Family Left Inside series (supported by Cellcom’s Green Gifts Program), families can set out on a quest. Much like a treasure hunt, a quest uses maps, riddles and pictures to provide clues to hidden natural treasures within the sanctuary. This quest takes place from 2 – 3:30 pm.

Pre-registration is required as the activity is limited to 15 families. Participating families will meet at Marshall Cabin; the fee is $15 per family for Ridges members and $20 for non-member families. To register, call The Ridges at 920.839.2802 or the YMCA at 920.868.3660.

On June 28, The Ridges will also hold Family Discover Night. The Family Discovery program is a time for parents (or grandparents) and children to investigate and learn about nature. Activities include being inside a giant soap bubble or examining pond creatures under a microscope. The program includes hands-on nature investigations and experiments and will run from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall. Admission to Family Discovery Night is free, but donations are welcome.
