Farmers Market and Community Day in Sister Bay

The opening of this season’s Farmers’ Market and the second annual “Community Day” will be jointly celebrated at the Sister Bay Historical Society’s Corner of the Past Museum on Saturday morning, June 28.

The Farmers’ Market, featuring locally-grown fruits, vegetables and flowers along with prepared foods from area certified kitchens, will run from 8 am – noon.

The Community Day open house is set to begin at 9 am. Fish Creek mixed-media artist Jenni Stultz will be offering a demonstration of the traditional craft of needle felting from 9 – 11 am. She will be showing how to use a barbed felting needle to create fabric for use in clothing and decorative objects. Docents and board members will be on hand to provide in-depth information on the displays and the activities of the Historical Society, and cookies and lemonade will be served.

The Corner of the Past is located at the intersection of Highway 57, Country Lane and Fieldcrest Road at the southeastern edge of Sister Bay. Admission is free, but contributions to the non-profit society’s efforts are appreciated.
