Farmers’ Markets Galore

The stand by the side of the road selling fresh produce is not an anomaly in Door County. Traversing up and down the peninsula on a sunny afternoon, one would need all their fingers and toes to count the opportunities to pull over and stock up on something fresh.

In recent years, however, Door County’s local growers have banded together at a variety of farmers’ markets to make stocking up the pantry with local goods that much easier. At press time for our annual Sustainability Issue, the Pulse was aware of the following Farmers’ & Craft Markets slated for the upcoming summer and fall:

• Lakeside Park, Hwy 57, Jacksonport

9am-1pm, Tuesdays (June 14 – October 25). Do your shopping locally with fresh fruits, vegetables and meat, canned goods, soaps, bird houses & feeders, and more.

• Martin Park, 207 S. 3rd Ave, Sturgeon Bay

3-7pm, Tuesdays (June 21 – September 27). Get what you need from a variety of local vendors.

10am-2pm, Wednesdays (June 8 – October 26). Fresh locally grown produce, plants, flowers, homemade breads, delicious jams, salsa and canned goods along with homemade soaps.

• Country Walk Shops, Sister Bay

3:30-5:30pm, Wednesdays (June 1 – October 26). Stop by as local producers sell their goods near Top Shelf Cafe & Gourmet.

• Corner of the Past, Hwy 57 and Fieldcrest Rd, Sister Bay

8am-noon, Saturdays (June 25 – October 8). Shop for locally-grown produce, artisan breads, organic beef, fresh-cut flowers and Door County products. A heritage program will also be held on the grounds, 9-11am.
