Fatal Vehicle Crash in Sevastopol UPDATED

A 57-year-old woman from Gurnee, Ill., was declared dead at the scene after the moped she was driving collided with an SUV at approximately 7:49 pm June 13. Officers from the Door County Sheriff Dept. responded to the intersection of Mathey Road and W. Whitefish Bay Road in the Town of Sevastopol. The Sturgeon Bay Fire Department, Sevastopol EMT’s, and Door County EMS units arrived shortly after. The preliminary investigation suggests that the SUV, driven by a 17-year-old male, did not stop for a stop sign and the moped struck the passenger side of the SUV. The crash is still under investigation. Names have not been released pending notification of family.

June 15: The driver of the moped that died in a traffic crash in the Town of Sevastopol the night of June 13 has been identified as 57 year old, Suzanne Lindsay of Gurnee,Ill. Il. The 17-year-old driver of the SUV has been identified as Maxwell Krohn of Sturgeon Bay. The crash is still under investigation by the Door County Sheriff’s Department.
